Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Responsible for the upkeep, operation, and inspection of water and sewage infrastructure.
• Takes corrective measures based on the results of water quality and system tests.
• Makes sure everything is done the right way and in accordance with the law.
• Handles tasks such as digging, filling, restoring, working with concrete, and laying pipes.
• Removes obstructions and sediment from sewage mains, laterals, and manholes.
• Presents oneself neatly and carries out one’s tasks in a way that enhances the Region’s reputation.

Qualification/ About the Applicant

• A high school diploma.
• Obtaining certification at the subsystem class level is preferred, although a Water Distribution Class
• 1 and Wastewater Collections Operator-In-Training (OIT) certificate will suffice as a minimum MOE need.
• Preferably hold a certificate as a meter installer.
• Capability to use and maintain a wide range of manual and mechanical tools.
• Knowledge of and facility with the English language in all its forms.
• Able to fill out documents and reports with precision.
• You need to be comfortable with computers.
• Be familiar with relevant regulations and how they affect compliance.
• Training refresher complete satisfactorily.
• Certification as a Meter Installer is Necessary
• Capable of meeting the needs of the position physically.
