Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Determines what needs to be moved, gathered, or distributed by reading production schedule, customer order, work order, shipment order, or requisition.
• Transports items between points of origin (such as a warehouse or factory) and destination (such as a storage facility).
• Stocks shelves, bins, and cold storage areas with products, sorting them by size, type, style, colour, or product code.
• Distributes materials, tools and other stock items to production employees or assembly line in response to requisitions, work orders or requests.
• Puts items on pallets or shelves per customer orders, then transports them to the packing area or shipping department.
• Clearly identifies and labels items.
• Unlocks shipping containers such as bales and crates.
• Maintains a tally of all resources in and out.
• Checks product distribution inside the facility for compliance with business standards by weighing or counting items.
• Sequentially organises inventory for use in manufacturing.
• Data entry through computer.
• Creates worksheets or tickets based on input from customers.
• Operates vehicle to deliver and retrieve stored items.
• Orders materials and supplies from other plant divisions by filling out requisition forms.
