The Utility Worker in Nutrition and Food Services provides their services in both hospital and grocery store dining rooms. The Utility Worker may be responsible for preparing and providing food and supplies to patients, residents, Veterans, staff, families, and customers under the direction of the Manager / Food Service Supervisor. Cleaning and disinfecting patient trays, equipment, and facilities is also part of their job description. The Utility Worker promotes correct food handling practices and strives for 100% customer satisfaction. The Utility Worker is responsible for a wide range of essential tasks all across the facility.

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Proven fluency in both English and rudimentary arithmetic; prior work experience in a restaurant, is a plus.
  • Being good with customers is a definite plus.

  • Capacity to express oneself clearly while maintaining polite and respectful behavior

Qualification/ About the Applicant

  • Create and distribute menus, statistics, and labels.
  • Getting the CBORD/Vision report printed and comparing it to the Meditech/STAR report
  • Hygiene and Food Safety
  • Scrub and disinfect the kitchen and all of the appliances and tools used there.
  • Keep the workplace safe and clean.
  • Proper food hygiene and preparation
  • Sanitation, time and temperature regulation, preventing cross-contamination, and washing hands properly are just a few examples.
  • Protracted Assignment, 50% Time, 37.5 Hours Weekly
  • About a Year’s Time
  • Working on shifts, on-call, in rotation, etc.
