Job Responsibilities and Overview:

  • Sunshine Village’s utility systems will be closely monitored to guarantee timely, reliable service.
  • Responsibility for hauling includes making sure that the Resort’s most important regions have adequate supplies of clean water and wastewater disposal space.
  • Transporting fuel to resort buildings that need it.
  • Conducting and monitoring water treatment operations to ensure a quality water supply to the public is one of the many potential responsibilities of this position.
  • Maintaining and operating the wastewater treatment facility in accordance with Parks Canada,
  • Environmental Protection Services, and all other relevant environmental legislation.
  • Maintaining a sufficient water supply in the Resort’s reservoirs.
  • Keeping an eye on and fixing everything that has to do with water and sewage.
  • Duties in Administration and Reporting:
  • Keeping effective practices standard.
  • Training records, maintenance logs, mandated submissions, incidents, and deficiencies should all be accurately documented and reported in a timely manner to the relevant departments or individuals.
  • It is possible that you will be asked to perform additional tasks, such as providing transportation outside of normal business hours.

Qualification/ About the Applicant

  • Graduate of a high school or its equivalent who is also skilled with machines.
  • An academic background in the hard sciences and mathematics/computer science is very desirable.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license in the province of Alberta (Class 5 required) and be at least 21 years old.
  • Willing to work irregular hours and shifts, including holidays and nights, as well as outside in all weather.
  • A high degree of initiative and adaptability; am a strong self-starter; ability to remain cool under pressure.
  • We recommend candidates with experience in wastewater treatment, propane, fuel, and water systems.
  • Competent in both oral and written English communication.
  • Participate in both internal and external training and meetings as required.
  • The ideal candidate will be clean, on time, reliable, friendly, outgoing, optimistic, and mature.
