The LINX Transit Service in the County of Simcoe is operated by First Student. We are currently hiring hardworking, customer-focused employees for full- and part-time employment in Beeton and New Tecumseth, Ontario. Full-time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package.
Maintains a clean and orderly interior while driving the bus safely. Transports passengers in a safe, dependable, and timely manner while following all First Transit and County of Simcoe protocols
Responsible for operating a variety of corporate vehicles (including those not used to generate income) in a safe, courteous, and dependable way across the contractual service area on a daily basis

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

  • Regularly demonstrates exemplary attendance
  • Conducts mandatory vehicle pre-and post-trip inspections
  • Know the local population well enough to do your job.
  • Loading and unloading stops at predetermined locations
  • Help passengers who use wheelchairs or scooters board the aircraft and make sure their mobility devices are safely fastened.
  • alerts control center to detours, excess passengers, accidents, incidents, passengers with medical or
  • behavioral issues, and bus mechanical or electrical difficulties
  • Monitors the fare box and provides details to passengers. Informs travelers of regulations where applicable.
  • Reports on passengers and accidents are submitted in writing.
  • Controls electronic indicators indicating locations
  • takes on additional responsibilities as needed

Qualification/ About the Applicant

  • Graduate of Secondary School
  • Experience with public transportation is a plus, as is a driver’s license class BZ or CZ, a clean driving record, and a clear background check.
  • Effective verbal skills
  • Capable of learning and using basic mathematical and English skills
  • Capacity to multitask and finish projects on schedule
  • A capability to read maps, directions, and street signs is required.
  • Superb verbal and listening abilities
  • Able to work any shift, any day, and any time of day, including weekends.
