Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Second, set up steam and condensate lines, steam traps, pressure reduction valves, and flash tanks, and keep them in working order.
• Thirdly, set up, fix, and maintain medical gas networks.
• For certain projects or maintenance responsibilities, you can be asked to take the reins and exercise some degree of supervision.
• Conduct functional tests on plumbing, steam, sprinkler, and medical gas systems in compliance with state and UNC Hospitals’ operating and maintenance requirements and parameters as well as industry standards, building regulations, and JCAHOs.
• Review construction plans and install facilities, equipment, and materials in accordance with plans and to fulfill state, Life Safety, and federal laws.
• Determine what plumbing and plumbing-related materials and equipment will work with the current infrastructure and facilities, and then set them up, run them, and take care of them.

Qualification/ About the Applicant

• A secondary school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
• Driver’s license: Valid in the State of California.
• Experience installing and maintaining plumbing systems, such as steam and condensate systems, medical gas systems, boiler systems, and fire pump/sprinkler systems, for a minimum of three (3) years.
