The Laundry Aide is in charge of collecting, sorting, washing, mending, and delivering the residents’ dirty clothes. To provide a hand in the gathering and classification of filthy personal apparel and linens, as well as the pretreatment of stains. Should be able to produce a Vulnerable Sector Check that is both comprehensive and up-to-date (conducted within the past six months) and include a Criminal Background Check, or should be prepared to get one. Job responsibilities and duties:

As a worker, you will have to do and be responsible for the following:

• Perform laundry duties, including loading and unloading machines and checking detergent and bleach levels.
• To check for damage (rips, tears, buttons, etc.) and fix soiled linens or personal laundry;
• It is your responsibility to fold, sort, and stack the residents’ laundry as needed;
• To transport garments and bedding to designated regions;
• To abide by all of the rules and regulations set forth by the facility, particularly those pertaining to safety on the job;
• Maintaining necessary records in accordance with workplace protocols;
• Intentionally work to uphold and advocate for the Resident’ Rights & Responsibilities;
• To participate in appropriate in-service training as needed to better meet the requirements of residents;
• Participate in staff meetings as needed so you may stay up-to-date on developments at Residence;
• Join the Quality Improvement Programme
• Trusted employment with elderly or infirm residents.

• To carry out additional responsibilities as needed.
