Salary General Handy worker job:

• CAD 15-25 per hour

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Installs, operates, maintains, and repairs mechanical equipment and assists with construction and general building and grounds maintenance.
• Provides assistance to the Tradesperson, Handyperson 1, and others as needed.
• Relocates buildings’ contents and machinery as needed.
• Transports vehicles to work sites and operates a wide range of mechanical tools (truck, loader, trencher, etc.) as required.
• Maintains machinery by conducting checks, adjusting, and fixing as needed. Provides a wide range of services that are not normally associated with a certain profession. It’s possible that you’ll need to oversee the work of others and instruct subordinates.
• Carries out supplementary duties, if required.

Qualification/ About the Applicant

• Expertise in fixing and maintaining mechanical systems, as well as familiarity with landscaping, maintaining buildings and equipment, and constructing new structures.
• Must obtain and keep in good standing an Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and meet all other City of Toronto criteria for driving heavy machinery.
• Possessing the skills necessary to operate and maintain machinery and equipment
• Proven skill in understanding and following both written and spoken directions, as well as sketching.
• Capacity to interact politely with members of the public.
