PRAIRIE MOUNTAIN HEALTH offers CAD 15-25 hourly for the Environmental Services Aide position. The Environmental Services Aide works under the supervision of the Manager, Environmental Services, or the Environmental Services Supervisor and is responsible for the following tasks, which must be carried out in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures, and government rules and legislation: Contributes to the delivery of all facets of laundry and housekeeping services in accordance with established standards, procedures, and infection control guidelines; prioritizes and completes all duties, inspections, and inventory responsibilities within established timeframes and schedules; acts in a way that promotes patient and workplace safety.

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

  • Contributes to the education of personnel and students in Environmental Services.
  • Taking on this role means you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all of Environmental Services follows standard operating procedures to provide consistent, high-quality service.
  • Maintains allocated areas in a sanitary condition according to established protocols for infection control and cleaning schedules.
  • Sets priorities and meets deadlines for completing additional cleaning tasks, all while sticking to the predetermined cleaning plan.
  • Makes routine rounds of assigned locations right before closing time to ensure everything is in order.
  • Maintains a spotless environment and optimal performance of all machinery.
  • Utilizing the right tools and supplies, this person washes, mops, waxes, vacuums, polishes, and dust.
  • Maintains a clean mattress and bed frame at all times.
  • Picks up trash and cleans cans.
  • Housekeeping carts must be kept clean and stocked at all times.
  • Takes in dirty laundry, sorts it, washes it, dries it, folds it, and transports it to its destination.
  • Performs laundry and linen processing in accordance with all applicable regulations and policies, including those pertaining to infection control.
  • Depending on the situation, you might need to fix small issues with the laundry and linens.
  • Moves clean sheets and towels about the house.
  • Performs allocated and necessary restocking of all locations.
  • Helps out with stock taking.
  • Contributes to and takes part in quality control audits and other departmental procedures.
  • Extra responsibilities as needed.
