Located in Kamloops’s Coast Hotel and Conference Centre, Throughout the year, we also host interesting team-building activities like winery tours and office parties. The kitchen’s cooks will uniformly attired in black chef coats and matching trousers. Shoes must have a heel and sole to prevent slipping. Uptown Chefs Catering + Events will provide aprons and aprons for the chefs.

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Grasp, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds of variously sized knives, pots, pans, bowls, and other display items to various locations in the kitchen and bakery.
• Able to use cutting boards, typically 3 to 4 feet in height, on work surfaces of varying heights (in a banquet kitchen, prep kitchen, bake shop, etc.).
• Methods for safely operating and maintaining a wide range of cooking appliances, including slicers, grinders, mixers, ovens, warmers, and more.
• The majority of our workdays spent inside. The temperature kept at a comfortable level by various systems, but employees must be able to work in a wide range of environments, including
• freezers (-10 degrees Fahrenheit) and kitchens (+110 degrees Fahrenheit).
• Follow the instructions and checklists provided to the letter when making the products.
• Equipment and cooking utensils must maintained clean and sanitary at all times in all work areas.
• Consult with managers as appropriate and report any problems with the food’s quality or presentation to them before it’s served.
• Prepare all necessary records such as production sheets, prep lists, etc.
• Able to carve and present a variety of foods including meats, vegetables, fruits, desserts, and salads.
• Participate in additional tasks as requested by your superiors.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, as well as stand for 6-8 hours per day, are required physical requirements
