Caretaker job in Canada. Looking for a position as a Caretaker job in Canada? GOVERNMENT OF ALBERTA offers CAD 3500 Monthly for the Caretaker position. We are looking for a high-energy, self-starter who is also very organized and has great time management abilities to join our team. We are looking for a caretaker at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre. Caretaker 3 will have you manage the cleaning staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre. You’ll be in charge of keeping the facility clean and safe by overseeing a team of offenders who have been tasked with janitorial duties.

If necessary, this may also include overseeing the cleanup of biohazards that may occur on occasion within the Centre. You will be in charge of ensuring that the offenders on the Cleaning Crew do all cleaning duties in accordance with institutional policy. You will also be responsible for overseeing the annual deep cleaning of the Centre’s walls, vents, and ceilings.

Job responsibilities and duties:

As a worker, you will have to do and be responsible for the following:

• Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, common cleaning products and chemicals used in janitorial settings.
• Knowledge of, or practice with, using a wide range of janitorial tools.
• Valid WHIMIS registration.
• A minimum of a high school diploma and six months of experience in commercial cleaning are necessary, or the equivalent experience and education as detailed below.
• Equivalency: Education and experience in a relevant field are evaluated on a year-for-year basis (i.e.,
• 1 year of schooling = 1 year of experience, or vice versa).
• Exceptional Demands: The ability to lift and carry caregiving equipment, as well as other heavy objects, is a must.
