Nestlé Confectionery is expanding its York facility and is in need of Line Operators to assist the manufacturing team. There is a minimum weekly commitment of 21 hours for these positions, as part of the Nestle Flexible Worker program. Success in this temporary position may lead to a permanent position with the largest food and beverage company in the world.

Those responsible for making KitKats, Aeros, Yorkie bars, and Polo Mints need your help in a number of areas: as part of a manufacturing team to create our confectionery products; as part of a production team to operate packing machines; and as part of a manufacturing team to monitor quality of products.

Job responsibilities and duties:

As a worker, you will have to do and be responsible for the following:

• Maintaining production lines without excessive downtime due to repairs or breakdowns is your primary responsibility.
• Maintain a risk-free workplace by enforcing stringent quality and safety measures.
• Take on tasks with the mindset of always trying to do better.
• Take charge of the line even when the Line Leader isn’t around; set a good example; keep things running smoothly;
• Offer a method of working that encourages and inspires your coworkers to do their best.
• Help out in the production so that KPIs may be met.
• You’ll need a can-do mentality and a focus on getting things done to succeed in this role.
• You will aggressively encourage healthy practices that ensure your own and others’ safety.
• The capacity to work well in a group and solve problems effectively is crucial.
• You will be methodical in your work and able to adhere to procedures that ensure safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
• The ideal candidate would have prior experience in a manufacturing setting, although it is not required.
