Job Responsibilities and Overview:

  • Keep food costs down while ensuring that the Senior Culinary staff produces delicious meals.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of appealing advertisements for food products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by working closely with the Executive Steward. Conduct a weekly walk-through to ensure that the department is clean and well-organized.
  • Maintain a rigorous standard of food safety management and safeguards in accordance with the hotel’s HACCP food hygiene requirements.
  • Keep an eye on the quality of the food served at all of the restaurants and banquets.
  • Maintain precision and timeliness in the completion of all departmental reports, timetables, standard recipes, menus, food presentation images, and correspondences.
  • Find out what guests and the local community want from the hotel’s dining options.
  • Keep an eye on the offerings of neighboring restaurants and hotel banquet halls, and evaluate what you find.
  • Foster and maintain productive working relationships with the management of other departments within your areas of responsibility through regular interaction.
  • Engage in conversation with community members and possible visitors as needed.

Qualification/ About the Applicant

  • A certificate or degree from an accredited culinary arts or hospitality management program is recommended.
  • Having more than one food and beverage accreditation is very desirable.
  • You need at least 5 years of experience managing hotel kitchens and dining rooms in major tourist hubs to be considered for this position.
  • Possessing fluency in other languages and at least a working knowledge of the languages of the area will be an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Expertise in managing people and finances, together with a high level of professionalism
