The Chief AGE Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and service, and storage of any AGE within his or her jurisdiction. Performs preventative and predictive maintenance of AGE’s mechanical, electrical, fuel, and lubrication systems, including those powered by turbines, diesel, and gasoline engines. Daily responsibilities include communicating with the AGE Superintendent and overseeing the smooth running of the AGE store. Follows the technical specifications laid down by the United States Air Force and Amentum International. Maintains Amentum’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) and Performance Work Statement (PWS) compliance.

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Primary supervisor to train AGE mechanics and undertake periodic inspection, maintenance and repair operations on assigned AGE assets.
• Manages inventory of equipment and supplies and makes replacements and repairs as needed.
• Performs pre-deployment exercises and/or pre-deployment preparations on AGE/FLSE and other equipment.
• Provides information in response to inquiries about the location and condition of allocated machinery.
• Uses diagnostic tools to determine the health of hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and pneumatic systems and parts.
• Updates historical data, coordinates necessary activities, and prepares documentation such as work orders, US Air Force supply forms, and Amentum forms.
• Uses maintenance action sheets, Air Force technical orders, and Amentum instructions to oversee repairs.
• Ensures all work is done to quality standards and provides employees with feedback on their progress while developing standards for subordinates and implementing the concept of quality assurance within the rules of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard (QMS).
• Prepares work schedules, assigns tasks, and develops procedures for new employees.
• Provides on-the-job training for AGE mechanics in areas such as allocated AGE/FLSE, safety, MSDSs, security awareness, and more. Maintains and revises training logs.
• Inspects and readies assets and equipment for transport through air, sea, and land.
• Maintenance and repair work is done on operational assets, making them ready for use again.
• As needed, generate technical order modifications and quality/material deficiency reports for submission.
• Performs duties requiring operation of material handling equipment.
• Performs inspections of HAZMAT within the designated work area and, if necessary, coordinates disposal with the relevant office.
