Job Responsibilities and Overview:

  • Provide support for the set-up and upkeep of gas utility infrastructure.
  • Carry out basic field and service tasks including meter set upkeep, AMR device installation, shut-offs, and line locating.
  • Check the lines that supply the stores frequently.
  • Use various pieces of machinery, instruments, and gadgets without incident.
  • Collect utility bills by reading meters.
  • Carry out basic warehouse and shipping/receiving tasks.
  • Carry out given upkeep tasks, such as cleaning, painting, and mowing the lawn.
  • Keep all necessary documents, forms, and records in order.
  • Locate and report all cases of gas theft at company and consumer locations.
  • Foster productive relationships with clients and employees.
  • Take on any additional tasks that may be thrown your way.
  • Occasionally, shift labor in operations may be required.
  • Assist in times of crisis whenever needed (24/7).

Qualification/ About the Applicant

  • Be at least 12 years old or have a GED.
  • Upstream gas utility system knowledge, meter reading expertise, and familiarity with AMR technology are all pluses.
  • It is highly ideal that you be conversant in the numerous regulatory regulations that apply to the natural gas industry.
  • Must be able to maintain and encourage positive working relationships and outstanding customer service; must be able to make and implement solid decisions; must have strong work ethics.
  • Must be able to get the requisite certifications and pass the necessary exams set by the employer.
  • Must possess a valid Class ‘5’ driver’s license in Alberta and the ability to receive an In-House
  • Operator’s Certificate; other classes and/or certifications may be necessary.
  • The capacity to understand blueprints, shop drawings, and material requirements is a plus.
  • Must be able to operate tools and equipment with ease and show mechanical competence.
