RIO TINTO CANADA offers CAD 15-25 hourly for the Operator or Technical Cleaning position. A Technical Operator needed at our Yellowknife-based Product and sorting Facility (PSF). In order to get the most money out of them, diamonds need to go through a series of chemical operations that fall under the purview of the Technical Operator.

Working in Yellowknife at the Product & Sorting Facility (PSF) under the supervision of the PSF Superintendent. The Diavik Diamond Mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories is a major source of high-quality gem diamonds. Protecting the local environment and providing for the local community through employment and education are two of Diavik’s top priorities.

Applicants from the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Territory, as well as those who are beneficiaries of the DDMI Participation Agreement Groups, will given priority. Priority will given to members who make it clear in their application and résumé that they members.

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Sort and sieve diamonds to ensure smooth product flow through the PSF, and perform quality assurance checks on the sieves.
• Diamonds must sorted to remove any impurities.
• Always be sure to keep detailed reports and logs of your work.
• Sort diamonds using the Diasort machine as needed, paying close attention to detail to ensure that
• diamonds are properly sorted into grainer and carat categories.
• Contribute to the procedures of valuation.
• Use a variety of acids and caustics in a safe and responsible manner.
• Keep the office neat and safe by following all safety procedures.
• Carry out the monthly inspections that have been assigned
• Keep sufficient chemical supplies on hand to meet urgent needs.
• Learn how to use RTDS for efficient technical data cleaning, sorting, and pricing.

Qualification/ About the Applicant

• Keep the ISO 9001 requirements and standards at the same or higher level.
• Collaborate with government officials and mine partners to determine a fair price for the mine.
• Safety turns on the evaporator and neutralising procedures.
• Any issues that arise and disrupt the normal processing of items must be reported to the supervisor and the superintendent immediately.
• Finalise test data, process capability evaluations, and data from non-production material processing requirements.
• working with high-value goods in accordance with specified security criteria
• Collaborate with PSF Security to address diamond theft/loss and ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with SOPs.
