Accurate and efficient work completed with little oversight. All departmental and hospital policies and protocols fully comprehended and adhered to. The sterility of sterile materials maintained by careful handling and storage. Distribution best practices include a focus on location, rotation (FIFO), identity, documentation, and organization. All paperwork and stock counts kept up to date. Workload prioritization skills are clearly on display.

Problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues and create solutions, are on display. Deadlines for completing tasks consistently met. The importance of Quality Improvement recognized, and the will to success is expressed. All departmental machinery used properly, per policy.

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Collaborates extensively with other Materials Management staff members.
• Maintains relationships with, and communicates with, colleagues in other hospital departments and the laundry system serving a regional area.
• Competence in working with a minimum of direction.
• Superior interpersonal and communication abilities, including fluency in written and spoken English.
• Needs in Terms of Physique
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift large objects repeatedly (this includes pushing and pulling).
• Possessing prior expertise in supply management is a plus, including receiving, storing, laundering, and distributing goods.
