Icemaker/Caretaker job in Canada. Are you looking for a position as an Icemaker/Caretaker job in Canada? The UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA offers CAD 20-30 hourly for the Icemaker/Caretaker position. All ice-making and arena maintenance processes, as well as general caretaking of all facilities in the Max Bell Centre arena and fieldhouse, fall under the purview of the Icemaker-Caretaker, who works under general supervision.

Salary for Icemaker/Caretaker job:

  • GBP 20-30 per hour

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

  • Proven competence in driving appropriate motorized machinery.
  • Proven expertise in ice production, installation, maintenance, and caretaking.
  • Be competent with all ice-related and maintenance machinery.
  • You need to be in good enough shape to carry out your responsibilities.
  • A valid FIT test score and appropriate safety education/training are prerequisites. The ability to work in tight quarters and at heights is a must.
  • Be able to take on more responsibilities in a similar vein.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are expected.
  • Must submit valid results from the Child Abuse Registry and the Criminal Records Check

Qualification/ About the Applicant

  • Red Seal or Class W License as a Power Engineer in the province of Manitoba.
  • It is suggested that you finish and excel at the Arena Level II training program.
  • Required: Driver’s License from Manitoba valid for at least one year and Class 5.
  • a GED or equivalent is required.
  • Less than a year in the field means you need only a smattering of relevant experience.
  • Having prior icemaking experience is a plus.
