The Housekeeping Aide works under the supervision of the Manager, Environmental Services, or the Environmental Services Supervisor and is responsible for carrying out the following tasks in accordance with the relevant policies, procedures, and government rules and legislation: Provides assistance in all facets of housekeeping services; follows all policies and protocols for handling patient and employee safety; prioritizes and completes all duties, inspections, and inventory responsibilities within established timeframes and schedules; acts in a way that promotes the health and well-being of patients and staff.

Qualification

• Standard 9 (Manitoba)

Responsibilities:

• Contributes to the education and development of Environmental Services personnel and students.
• Assumes accountability for observing departmental processes to keep Environmental Services consistent and its service high-quality.
• Maintains allocated areas in a sanitary condition according to established protocols for infection control and cleaning schedules.
• Sets priorities and meets deadlines for completing additional cleaning tasks in line with the current cleaning schedule.
• Makes routine rounds of assigned locations right before closing time to ensure everything is in order.
• Maintains a spotless environment and optimal performance of all machinery.
• Utilizing the right tools and supplies, this person washes, mops, waxes, vacuums, polishes, and dust.
• Maintains cleanliness of bed frames and mattresses on a regular basis.
• Garbage is collected, and trash cans are cleaned, too.
• Maintain the cleanliness and stock levels of the cleaning carts.
