Job responsibilities and duties:

As a worker, you will have to do and be responsible for the following:

  • Inspect regulated businesses and operations at predetermined intervals as per Council’s strategic plans.
  • To achieve the desired compliance outcome, it may be necessary to issue penalty infringement letters, initiate legal procedures, and have Council evidence presented on its behalf in court.
  • Deliver timely solutions to client demands pertaining to public health, environmental health, and environmental preservation.
  • Take part in Council programs that apply to you by conducting monitoring or surveillance to check for adherence to rules and regulations.
  • Regularly update the Coordinator of Compliance on progress made toward goals in order to fulfill Council and legal reporting responsibilities.
  • Maintain communication with consultants and review their work to ensure compliance with all health and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Raise public awareness about community safety issues and the needs and changes to legislation and policy by providing expert advice and information to the community, Council, and other stakeholders.
