For the duration of the holiday season, we are offering a full-time seasonal contract for this position, with a guaranteed 35 hours per week until December and the option to continue working through January. Weekend and after-hours availability is required.*

The Catering Driver & Porter will pick up orders from the OB Caters kitchen and deliver them to the designated offsite location/venue anywhere in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area in a timely manner, taking special care not to damage the perishable goods. In addition to making deliveries and assisting with set-up and breakdown between events, this position is also responsible for the upkeep of catering equipment and vehicles.

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Discuss shipping specifics with the Expeditor.
• Responsible for the timely and secure packaging, receiving, and loading of company goods onto company vehicles.
• Maintain deadlines while walking and driving to deliver things.
• When operating a work car, it’s important to observe traffic laws and follow instructions.
• When you get there, make sure everything is unloaded, and then provide the goods to the local management.
• Help out with the day-to-day operations, such as packaging up catering supplies for off-site events.
• Help take stock of the catering supplies and the storage areas.
• Help with event preparation and breakdown
• Obey all rules pertaining to health and safety Perform other tasks as needed

Qualification/ About the Applicant

• Driving Permit Grade G Validity
• Ability to stand or drive for extended periods of time Possess a clean criminal record check and drivers abstract Possess the ability to easily lift 20 kg Possess the ability to follow direction and operate calmly and effectively under pressure
