Job responsibilities and duties:

As a worker, you will have to do and be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee the Team responsible for implementing the Transport projects outlined in the Council’s Annual Plan.
  • Create and uphold Transport’s tactical asset management actions.
  • Meet stakeholder expectations for the project’s scope, timeline, budget, quality, risk, and customer service.
  • Respond to emergencies as directed by the Civil Defence Controller, Group Manager, or CEO.
  • A degree from an accredited university
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of New Zealand (required).
  • Possession of a Work and Residence Permit in New Zealand
  • Working knowledge of transport and roads is a plus, as is experience working in a project management department and/or with local government.
  • Possessing the skills necessary to perform a variety of reporting and auditing tasks, with an emphasis on ensuring the timely and accurate collection of data.
  • Excellent fluency with computers.
  • Competence at the highest level in civil engineering technology.
  • Superb ability to organize one’s time.
  • Superior abilities in listening, interacting, and communicating.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of writing short reports.
  • Truthfulness, sincerity, and dependability.
  • Having the mental fortitude to hold up under adverse conditions.
