Job Responsibilities and Overview:
- Menu planning, ordering, inventory, cooking, and cost management are just some of the everyday tasks that need to be managed in a commercial kitchen.
- Budget, purchase, and maintain all food, supplies, and equipment for the programme.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and make the most of team members’ abilities by supervising, mentoring, and monitoring the kitchen staff and evaluating their performance.
- Set benchmarks for performance, and introduce quality enhancements
- Manage the preparation and serving of food at business activities and social gatherings.
- Connect with potential and current suppliers and vendors and keep those connections active.
- Help spread the word about the meal plan to both employees and customers.
- Ongoing evaluation of the kitchen’s operations in search of ways to improve and save time.
- Maintain conformity with all Provincial and Federal Laws and Company Policies
- Verify that all HACCP, Food System Management, and Food Safety Policies and Procedures are followed.
Qualification/ About the Applicant
- Prior experience working in a University, College, or Private School kitchen is preferred.
- The ability to appreciate and master a wide range of culinary traditions highly value.
- Having a firm grasp on both industry norms and the policies and procedures mandated by law
- Proven organizational skills and strong computer capabilities, including Microsoft Office use, Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-centric, and safety-driven workplace
- Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting productively with clients, customers, and employees at all levels of the organization.
- independence in work, problem-solving, and solution-providing
- Knowledge of how to create healthy, environmentally friendly, and vegetarian dishes is a plus.
- Passionate about exceeding customers’ service expectations
- Love for both eating and people
- Capable of passing a Vulnerable Sector Screening in addition to a regular background check
