Here at the AGO, our Food and beverage team has the freedom to get imaginative in designing menus and other gastronomic experiences to complement our rotating exhibitions.

The AGO Food and Beverage team is looking for a regular full-time Cook 1, Outlets to join the team. Participate in all aspects of lunch, brunch, and dinner service under the direction of the Senior Manager of culinary Operations, including but not limited to preparation, set up, serving, and breakdown.

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Experience working in a high-quality, high-volume hospitality or retail establishment for at least four years.
• Education or experience equivalent to those required for a provincial certificate as a Journeyman cook.
• Proven expertise in the art of modern, creative cooking.
• Proven expertise in high-level cooking and food handling.
• Proven skill with all cooking equipment; must model safe practices for coworkers.
• Proven expertise in food hygiene, safety, and security practices.
• Cooperation, punctuality, and orderliness.
• Proven expertise in hospitality industry standards and procedures
• In the absence of the chef or sous chef, you need to be able to communicate effectively, accelerate service, and call in.
• Cooperation, punctuality, and orderliness.
• Evidence of familiarity with cultural context, sensitivity, awareness, and personal experience
