Job Duties: As a part of the BGIS SCS Team, you will be responsible for general heavy-duty cleaning in a specified area, with an eye toward quality control, health, and safety, and going above and beyond to satisfy customers.

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Sweep, clean, or vacuum the floor to get rid of dirt and debris.
• Maintain shiny hard floor surfaces with regular dry and wet mopping. Floors can be washed and buffed with either portable or tow-behind buffing devices. Automatic machinery may be employed for such tasks in large-scale outdoor applications.
• When necessary, strip and refinish hard floor surfaces by hand or using power tools.
• Carry trash to a landfill, recycling center, or compactor from collection sites.
• Carry necessary repair tools to and from different floors and work areas
• Maintains and stores machines and tools
• Maintains glass surfaces that are inaccessible without the use of elevated work platforms.
• Maintains sanitary conditions in restrooms by stripping and waxing floors
• Maintains areas requiring ladders, such as stairwells and elevator shafts.
• Helps with loading and unloading, and keeping cleaning supplies topped off
• Adhere to safety protocols when using chemical cleaners and power equipment to keep floors and fixtures in good condition.
• Other tasks as assigned by management
• In case of substantial building system repairs or upgrades, management should be notified.
• Cleaning solutions are made by combining water and detergents or acids in designated containers.
• Cleaning, sanding, refinishing, and polishing floors
• Carpets should be washed or steamed.
• Clear snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots, and apply snow-melting chemicals as needed.

Qualification/ About the Applicant

• Background working in an institutional setting executing a wide range of housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance duties.
• Knowledge of floor care machines, cleaning supplies, and cleaning solutions.
• Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its relevant provisions, including
• WHMIS, for this type of job.
• Capacity to take direction, both orally and in writing, and to keep accurate records both manually and digitally.
