Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Assist the Cook or Head Chef in preparing meals by, for example, slicing vegetables, putting together salads, dividing up portions of food, and cooking up some easy recipes.
• Meal Service: Assist in serving residents’ meals at mealtimes, paying special attention to residents with special dietary needs.
• Make sure the dining areas are ready for guests before mealtime by clearing and setting the tables and putting out the proper silverware, dishes, and glasses.
• Cleaning and dishwashing responsibilities include keeping the kitchen and eating area clean and tidy. They might also help clean the counters and cabinets in the kitchen.
• Resident Interaction: Engage in pleasant conversation with residents at meal times, paying attention to their needs and accommodating their requests as necessary.
• Validation of Food Handler Training.
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and open to instruction.
• Capable of working well with others and fostering a cooperative environment.
• Effective and pleasant interpersonal skills.
